Buttercream Frosting

(Personally Tested by the Prudent Cook)

Christmas 2005, I used this frosting and holiday sprinkles for decorating Old-Fashioned Sugar Cookies.

  • 1/4 c. butter (no substitutes)
  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • milk

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Add milk to reach desired consistency.

Use to decorate cakes or cookies. When decorating cookies, place on waxed paper until frosting hardens, then store in parchment-lined tins.
